UMP Delegation Visits for Academic Exchange and Future Collaboration
Since its official inauguration in 2022, our institution has actively expanded international relations and established collaborations with multiple countries. In the past, we signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Mahidol University in Thailand and Trinity University of Asia in the Philippines. Currently, we are in discussions with the Faculty of Medicine at Kumamoto University in Japan regarding student exchange and cooperation agreements.
On October 24, 2024, a delegation from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (UMP), led by President Prof. Ngo Quoc Dat and composed of 11 deans and administrative executives, visited our university for academic exchange with the College of Medicine. The purpose of UMP’s visit was to share academic resources, learn about our research environment, and strengthen the partnership between the two institutions.
The delegation was personally received by Vice President and Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Yen-Hsu Chen. Attendees from our university included Prof. Cheng-Hsin Chuang, Director of the Institute of Clinical Medicine; Associate Prof. Po-Chih Chang, Deputy Director of the Post-Baccalaureate Medical Program; Associate Prof. Yan-Chin Chen; and Assistant Prof. Po-Kai Chuang from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences. During the exchange, our faculty and department heads introduced the unique features and resources of each program to the UMP delegation. The guests also toured the laboratories in the National Research Building and were presented with the latest research achievements.
In addition, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), covering topics such as research collaboration, faculty and student exchange, and joint programs.
Both institutions expressed hope that this exchange would lay the foundation for future cooperation, opening new avenues for international collaboration and fostering mutual success in medical research and education.
